“Northern Star”
Chaga (Inonotus Obliquus) is not actually a mushroom. It is the sclerotium of the chaga fungus that grows inside birch trees in the northern hemisphere. When the tree is fully infested with the fungus, which takes about seven to fifteen years, the sclerotium is forced out of the side of the tree. It looks like burned wood, with a rust coloured woody structure on the inside. This is packed with antioxidants due to the Chaga’s extraction of betulinic acid from the birch tree. That is why we have called her “Northern Star '', but she is better known as “Diamond of the Woods”.
Chaga can’t be cultivated (yet!). The Chaga conks that are processed in our potions are wild but sustainably harvested. There are birch forests that are especially designed to semi cultivate these Chaga Conks. But because it takes so long for the conks to form, only time will tell if we will be able to provide this Potion without any environmental deployment.
This Potion is used for blood cell and intestinal health, blood sugar levels, oxidative stress and more.
